TFD Corporation

A Welcome message from President John P. Kukla

The Thiensville Fire Department Corporation was formed in 1961 to assist and complement the fire department in acquiring necessary emergency equipment and supplies. As a private, non-profit Wisconsin entity, the Corporation serves as the primary source of financial assistance for the purchase and replacement of ambulances and high-end equipment, saving taxpayers thousands of dollars on an annual basis.

Annual fundraising and educational activities include the annual Safety Day, Pancake Breakfast at the Firehouse, Kids Christmas Party, and active partnerships with various local businesses and philanthropic organizations such as the Mequon-Thiensville Rotary Club, Optimists, Junior Womens League, Lions Club, and the Thiensville Business Association. These partnership help keep the department a vital, visible, and influential community and county-wide resource for fire and EMS service.

The Corporation funds and maintains the original firehouse located at Buntrock Road and Main Street, a valued tribute to the fire service. The firehouse now serves as a community resource and houses the William F. Rausch fire museum. The museum room houses one of the longest and most valued members of the Thiensville Fire Department a 1935 Seagrave LaVerne motorized pumper. The Corporations generosity led to the complete restoration of the Seagrave in 2007.

The corporation is governed by a seven-member executive board who are elected by the corporation membership. Corporation membership is open to active fire department personnel, their family members, and community members. Potential new members are confirmed by a majority vote of the Corporation's current and active members. Corporation meetings are held at the fire station at 7:00pm on a quarterly basis (Feb, May, Aug, Nov) on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.
